Employees with work-related injuries or illnesses will be referred to Xavier’s occupational healthcare provider for medical care. After the initial visit, employees have the right to choose a doctor of their own choice, provided the healthcare provider accepts workers' compensation.
- You must complete the Choice of Physician form before authorization is given.
- Do not receive treatment for any other illness or injury unrelated to the workplace incident.
- Do not provide personal health insurance information when seeking medical care for a work-related injury. Always notify the medical provider that it is a work-related claim.
Treatment Pathways
- First Aid
- If the injury can be treated with on-site first aid, the employee will be seen on campus at Xavier Ochsner Health Services (St. Joseph Academic Health & Resource Center, Suite 217).
- Beyond First Aid
- The injured employee will be given an Employer's Authorization for Treatment Form to be seen at the nearest Ochsner Occupational Health location.
