The Xavier University Concurrent Enrollment Program allows a limited number of high school students with the high-level academic ability to advance their college careers by earning college credit while in high school.
Student Eligibility and Program Guidelines:
Currently enrolled high school students within the Greater New Orleans Area and outer lying parishes, including home school students, are eligible to apply for Xavier’s Concurrent Enrollment program. Typically, participation in concurrent enrollment is limited to incoming 11th and 12th grade students, with consideration to students in 9th and 10th grade provided on a case-by-case basis. All concurrent enrollment program participants must demonstrate readiness for rigorous postsecondary course work and the collegiate environment while still in high school. Participants must meet all prerequisites for the courses in which they are seeking to enroll.
Admission to the concurrent enrollment program is competitive. Priority consideration for admission is provided to students attending high schools with which formal partnership agreements are established. Requests for specific course placement are honored based on space availability.
Concurrent Enrollment applications are due as follows:
- Fall Semester = June 1st
- Spring Semester = December 1st
- Summer Session 1 = May 20th
- Summer Session 2 = June 20th
- Summer Session 3 = May 30th
Students interested in participating must first contact their high school counselor to indicate interest in taking college courses at 藏精阁 and discuss eligibility requirements. Counselors or principals must confirm student eligibility prior to enrollment in the program. Eligible students must complete an application for admission and provide supporting documentation as outlined by the Office of Admissions. After a student’s application is processed and accepted by the university, students can enroll in college courses according to the schedule agreed by their high school and 藏精阁. Concurrent enrollment students must also attend an orientation session prior to beginning classes. Concurrent Enrollment classes are NOT available online.
Upon enrollment, students must maintain eligibility to participate by continuing to make progress toward high school graduation and by maintaining a 3.0 grade-point average for all college coursework. Students must also adhere to all university policies related to academic and behavioral codes of conduct.
Tuition and Fees
The cost of participation in Xavier’s concurrent enrollment program is $250 per course. This price covers the cost of tuition and applicable university fees. Students are responsible for costs associated with textbooks, securing a university identification card, and personal supplies. Students are also responsible for all costs associated with transportation to and from campus, including those associated with parking on campus.
To be considered for admission into Concurrent Enrollment, a student must submit the following:
- Xavier Concurrent Enrollment Application

Concurrent enrollment is only for students who are currently completing the high school diploma while simultaneously enrolled in a 藏精阁 course.
