“Food insecurity is literally not knowing where your next meal is coming from,” said Curtis Wright, Vice President of Student Affairs. “Data suggests that last year, 30% of college students across the nation were food insecure, and �ؾ��� responded to this urgent need by partnering with our students to open Vincent’s Vault.”��

The on-campus pantry is operated by �ؾ���’s Campus Ministry and is open and available to all Xavierites. Vincent’s Vault was named by the St. Vincent de Paul Society Conference of �ؾ���. The St. Vincent de Paul Society is a lay catholic organization that inspires people to live the gospel message of Jesus Christ by serving the poor with love, respect, justice, hope, and joy, and by working to shape a more just and compassionate society. The on-campus pantry provides food as well as living essentials and hygiene products free of charge.��

“I am extremely humbled by the kindness and generosity of our donors. This will afford us the opportunity to purchase what we really need to help more individuals,” said Lisa McClain, who operates Vincent’s Vault and serves as Director of Campus Ministry. “Usually, when people are in need, it is difficult to ask for help, but after they find out Vincent’s Vault is available to help with food insecurities, they are very grateful!” McClain continued, “I remember one of our counselors asked if a student could get a few items from the Vault, and the student was literally in tears and couldn’t believe this was free and available to help them. College life is hard enough academically and when we provide support such as this, it lets students know we are a village working together and want to see them succeed.”
