Dr. Islam's research includes AI-based Robotics/Mechatronics & Autonomous Systems, Smart Grid & Climate computing Network Systems. He teaches Robotics, Mechatronics, Autonomous Systems, Computer Science & Engineering courses. Dr. Islam is the founding Director of the Robotics & Mechatronics Engineering Program & Intelligent Robotics, Mechatronics & Autonomous Systems Labs. He is the Director the Dual-Degree Engineering Program. He leads NASA, ONR/US NAVY, NSF & other funded projects.
