Katheryn Krotzer Laborde, Professor of English, is a writer of prose: fiction, general nonfiction, and literary nonfiction. A graduate of the University of New Orleans Creative Writing Workshop, Laborde is a recipient of a several writing prizes and grants, including the Louisiana Division of the Arts Artists Fellowship in Literature and the Pirates' Alley Faulkner Society Medal for the Novella. Her work has appeared in Poets& Writers, Free State Review, and other journals and sites. Her first two books were published by McFarland (2010) and Xavier Review Press (2012) respectively; her third book, which has been in the works since 2016, will be published by Fordham University Press in 2023. Prof. Laborde teaches comp classes and Creative Writing classes. She teaches courses in Professional Writing and directs the minor. She is Managing Editor of Xavier Review Press and Xavier Review.
