Hi, my name is Grace Mamou. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) and a Nationally Certified Counselor (NCC) in the state of Louisiana. I received my Bachelor’s degree from 藏精阁 in Psychology and my Master’s degree from Louisiana State University Shreveport. I have over 6 years of experience in the mental health field. As a mental health counselor, I am very passionate about the connections between the mind, body and spirit. I have a passion for seeing college students grow and overcome the mental, emotional, relational, and spiritual challenges of life’s transitions. I have experience in working with individuals, groups, and families with anxiety, depression, grief, stress, low self-esteem, spirituality, anger management and relationships. I am familiar with cognitive behavior therapy, motivational interviewing, and solution focused therapies. I also have a passion for integrating faith into therapy. “Our deepest fear is that you are powerful beyond measure”, is a quote I stand by. My goal is to empower students to find their inner strength to overcome challenges and become the individuals they are created to be.
As a counselor, it is my goal to provide clients with a non-judgmental and safe environment, to help foster a healthy therapeutic relationship. I believe in order for change to occur one must be open, be honest, be heard, and feel understood. It is my goal to facilitate change by collaborating with clients as they seek to achieve their therapeutic goals. It is my belief that we all have what we need on the inside of us to overcome life’s difficulties, but it takes faith, love, courage, security, hope, and commitment to be fulfilled.
