Dr. Gabriel I. Green is an Assistant Professor of African American Literature. He received his B.S. in Written Communications from Eastern Michigan University. He holds a master’s degree in English and a dual-title Ph.D. in English and African American & Diaspora Studies from The Pennsylvania State University with specializations in rhetoric-composition, African American rhetoric, and Black poetics. Additionally, Dr. Green is a published poet/writer. His prize-winning poetry chapbook, The Magical Negro Reveals His Secret, was published by C&R Press in 2019. His work has been featured in Santa Ana River Review, WusGood!, and Peregrine. Furthermore, video performances of his work have been featured by Button Poetry, a multimodal platform for slam and spoken word poetry.
