L. Faye Grimsley, Ph.D., MSPH, CIH, is Associate Professor, Department of Public Health Sciences, 藏精阁. Dr. Grimsley is also the Founding Director of Xavier’s Master of Public Health (MPH) Health Equity degree program. Dr. Grimsley is a public health research scientist and teacher with more than 25 years of experience with expertise in developing and implementing safe workplace policies and practices for chemical, biological, and physical hazards; conducting environmental qualitative and quantitative surveys and evaluations in occupational and community settings, and community outreach in minority populations and communities of color. She has a strong track record in facilitating training opportunities for underrepresented and disadvantaged students and mentoring young faculty. She has also served on NIH, CDC, and state research investigations, study sections, taskforce work groups, and advisory boards in the areas of children’s health, community exposures, disaster response, biomarkers of mold exposures, occupational health and safety, chemical and hazardous waste management, and COVID-19. She received her Bachelo of Science degree in Microbiology, University of Alabama-Tuscaloosa, MSPH degree in Industrial Hygiene, University of Alabama-Birmingham and Ph.D. degree in Environmental and Industrial Hygiene University of Cincinnati. She is a comprehensive practice Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH).
