Dr. Daniella Mascarenhas researches the intersection of freedom, incarceration, and civic engagement. Her work has appeared in The Political Science Reviewer and the Journal of Political Science Education and is forthcoming in Lateral and Critical Review: A Journal of Politics and Society. She is especially committed to civically engaged scholarship, integrating this research into her teaching to create a classroom environment where students actively engage with and contribute to civic life.
