I'm a native New Orleanian, a Xavier alumnus and the son of two alumni. I majored in English with a double minor in Mass Communications and Political Science. I thought about law school for a minute but ended working in television news. After living briefly on the west coast and working on a couple of local films (i.e.; "Eve's Bayou), I went to graduate school at the University of New Orleans and received a Master of Fine Arts degree in Creative Writing with an emphasis in screenwriting. I co-wrote the script for the independent film "NOLA," directed by New Orleans born actor/ director Harold Sylvester and my play "First Friday" has been performed onstage. I jokingly tell people that being a professor is my third attempt at a career and that I hope this one sticks. This is my 20th year teaching at XU.
