In fact, according to a report, a review scam is being run on the e-commerce website Amazon. More than 2 lakh users have been hit by the scam so far. As the name suggests, fake reviews are being inserted in the review section of the product under this review.

Security researcher Safety Detectives has revealed the scam. The review section of the Amazon has been affected due to this scam. This increases the visibility of any product and more and more users start buying that product. Whenever fake reviews are inserted with a product, its user rating increases and it starts appearing in the product top suggestion. Under this scam, the rating of bad products is being sold more and more.

Tell us that for this, Amazon send a list of products to vendor reviews. Then the reviews give 5 ratings to these products. By doing so, these products reach the top of the suggestion list. To do this, the reviewer should keep the product as well as Amazon company also provides money. The security researcher has received the data dated 1st March, 2021. It has about 7 GB of data, or 13 million records. This password is also not protected. The data contains e-mail addresses as well as WhatsApp and Telegram numbers of vendors who are part of the scam.

However, no guidelines have been issued by the Amazon to avoid such scams so far. But customers can avoid this scam if they pay little attention and use some tools. This scam can be avoided using ReviewMeta, Fakespot, The Review Index extensions or web in these tools.

For this you need to go to desktop Chrome or Fire Fox browser and then download one of the above extensions. The product can then go to the page and view and check its review. If a product has been given most of the 5 stars, check it again. You can also report fake reviews.

Only 28% of Indians have security solution as online shopping increases: Report

New Delhi| The Covid-19 epidemic has led to a significant increase in the trend of online shopping among Indian consumers. Computer security company McPhee said on Tuesday that a survey conducted by him showed an increase of up to 68 per cent in online shopping since the launch of Covid.

The result, however, also shows that consumers are not keeping themselves adequately safe on the online platform, as only a quarter, or 27.5 per cent of Indians, have used online security solutions. As a result, a large number of Indian consumers are at risk during online shopping.

2020 Holiday Season: State of Today’s Digital e-Shopper’ India survey findings show that more than half of Indians feel that cyber scams are more likely during the holiday season, while 42.3 per cent plan to shop during holidays. Venkat Krishnapur, Vice President of Engineering and Managing Director, McFi India, said in a statement,”This trend of shopping will increase further as customers are going to prefer online shopping inorder not to go to the store. In view of the increase in online money transactions, cyber criminals will try to take advantage of this, so it is important that users are alert to potential threats and take precautions to protect themselves and their families during this holiday season. “

Earlier, several other institutions including the Reserve Bank have also expressed apprehension of increase in online frauds. The Reserve Bank is constantly issuing advice to people to be vigilant during online transactions. However, despite all this, cases of online fraud, including card cloning, hacking, are constantly coming to light.
